Niriis hotel is 30m away from the sea, on Herakleous Street, at Agii Apostoli area, 4km west of Chania. I hope the directions are clear enough. In case you need any assistance or directions, call us at the hotel, at (0030) 28210 33034 (when you hear the answering machine, press '0' to be connected with reception - me), or at my Mobile (0030) 6972427286. I will be at the hotel. For more info: www.niriis-hotel.gr. See our hotel on Youtube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLJyv-mhx4g.

Because there are 2 other hotels with similar name with us (Niriides and Nireas) in other locations, make sure to mention the big car park and small park at Agii Apostoli area, or other hotels and restaurants on the same street with us: Xenios Dias restaurant, Telxinia hotel, Flamingo hotel and Creta Dream hotel.

Please don't forget to tell us your estimated arrival time and the means of transport for reaching Chania.

Here are the directions on how to reach Niriis hotel in a number of ways:

By plane (Chania airport)

From the airport there is a bus (local bus schedule, they change every week: www.bus-service-crete-ktel.com/timetable.php) every 3 hours to Chania. You have to take a taxi, it’s around 35 Euro to go to the hotel. It’s 30 Euro to Chania. Always ask the average price before you board a taxi! There is no need to make an advanced booking, as there are plenty of taxis waiting in the taxi rank opposite the airport terminal.

My advice is to rent a car, http://www.autohire-chania.gr/ because to rent a car is same price (30-40 euro) as taking a taxi, and you have it for 24 hours! Gas is expensive in Europe and Greece, in Crete is 1.80 euro per litre. Come at the hotel with car, and then will give you ideas where to go and what to do!

By bus from: Souda port / Chania / Chania Central bus station

Local bus schedule, they change every week: www.bus-service-crete-ktel.com/timetable.php

When you get out of the boat at Souda, opposite the boat or on the left side (10m away), there is the local blue bus (local bus schedule, they change every week: www.bus-service-crete-ktel.com/timetable.php) that takes you to Chania. In the nearby kiosk they sell tickets for 1.50 euro each. The bus terminates in Chania city centre, near Agora (the market in shape of cross). Then walk to 1866 square (Platia 1866, in Greek), where the busses depart and terminate to/from Agii Apostoli (where Niriis hotel is). Take bus no 21 from 1866 square. It’s 1 minute walk (50m) between the 2 bus stops. The distance is even shorter from Chania Central bus station (local bus schedule, they change every week: www.bus-service-crete-ktel.com/timetable.php). Last bus for Agii Apostoli departs at 23:00 from 1866 square, but we recommend to be there earlier. Alternatively get a taxi from 1866 square. Buy your ticket from the kiosk (1.10 euro), before you get on the bus to Agii Apostoli, the tickets are cheaper if you buy them before you get on the bus. When you get on the bus, ask the driver to drop you by Agii Apostoli car parking, next to Agii Apostoli Park. You will know you are there when you see the sea. When you get off the bus on the car parking, and the sea is behind you, you will see opposite Xenios Dias restaurant. From there Niriis is 30m. On the left of the restaurant is a very small, two-direction street, Herakleous Street. Go in, the road goes left, then in 5m you will see Niriis hotel on the left hand side.

By bus from: Heraklio/Chania Central bus station

local bus schedule, they change every week: www.bus-service-crete-ktel.com/timetable.php

Catch a bus from Heraklio central bus station, its opposite the port, 2 minute walk. Busses run every hour, last bus at 21:00, takes 2.5 hours to reach Chania. From Chania central bus station walk to 1866 square (Platia 1866, in Greek), where the busses depart and terminate to/from Agii Apostoli (where Niriis hotel is). Take bus no 21 from 1866 square. It’s 1 minute walk (50m) between the 2 bus stops. Local bus schedule, they change every week: www.bus-service-crete-ktel.com/timetable.php. By car, from Souda port or from Heraklio through the national road

From Heraklio by car: Drive along the national road, its 150Km, or 2-3 hours drive, depending on speed. Then follow the directions below, after Omalos sign/turn on the national road.

From Souda by car: When you get out of the boat, follow the flow of cars. The roads are directed in this way so that the traffic goes to Chania. From there Niriis is 9km. As you go towards Chania, you will stop at the first traffic light. Here the road is narrow and there is a lot of traffic. Be patient! 70m after traffic light, the road widens and there is a sign Rethymno/Kissamos/Kasteli. Turn left there. 100m later there is a right turn Kissamos/Kasteli on the New National Road. When you turn to the right and you will be on the national road. That way it’s quicker and less confusing to go to our hotel, than drive through Chania. From there Niriis is 8km. Keep driving straight on the national road. When you see the sign to turn right to Chania, don’t turn. When you see the sign towards Omalos, turn right. From there Niriis is 6km. As you go down along the short small road, turn right again in the first turn. You go to the direction towards Chania, and not Omalos. Then go all straight, until first traffic lights. From there Niriis is 3km. On the traffic lights turn left, not to Chania. Keep all straight, turn right on the second traffic lights that you come across, when you see on your right hand side INKA supermarket, after going down from a hill. From there Niriis is 300m. Then go all straight. You will see a small football pitch on the right, and a small park on the left. You can see the sea. From there Niriis is 100m. Turn left and drive along the park. You will arrive in a big car park, the sea is in front of you. On the big car park there is a restaurant, Xenios Dias. From there Niriis is 30m. On the left of the restaurant is a very small, two-direction street, Herakleous Street. Go in, the road turns left, in 5m on the left hand side you will see Niriis hotel.

Boat companies

There are regular connections to Crete and Chania, both from air and sea. Boats leave from the port of Piraeus (in Athens) to Chania (and vice versa) on a daily basis. The trip lasts 9-6 hours, depending on which boat you take, and departures are usually at 22:00pm.

Blue Star Ferries (www.bluestarferries.gr) is faster and more modern. The trip lasts 6 hours.

Similar connections exist from the other towns of Crete, Heraklio and Agios Nicholaos. From Heraklio there are boats departing to Cyclades islands (Santorini) and Dodecanese islands (Rhodes).
